How to make a Dome

Stunningly, dome ceilings cover Iranian architecture masterpieces. One of the most famous Iranian Domes and the largest Brick Dome in the world which is a World Heritage Site is Gonbad-e Soltaniye near Zanjan and was erected under illkhanids as the Mausoleum of Il-khan Öljeitü also known as Muhammad Khodabandeh.

Wanna to know how a Dome is building? The following is the instruction:
take a look at below illustration. As you see a square plan is essential on which a dome’s structure will be put. Derivation an octagon from the square is the second step. After that four gushvare are devised as a connection of octagon’s four new sides to the basic square. Next stage is to converting the octagon into a Sixteengon which resemble a circle. After that, eight virtual concentric arcs shape the dome as its skeleton and these eight sections will be filled by bricks. And final cover is glazed heavenly Persian tiles.
